2017 ACTIVITIES

Below are some scenes from the December Meeting & Gift Exchange at Pano’s Restaurant in Harrisonburg

A large group gathered at Pano's Restaurant for the annual club Christmas party.
Everyone patiently awaiting the restaurant servers.

On a cold day with a threat of rain, the Gregory's '68 Buick LeSabre was the only antique car to make it to the April 23rd meeting.

...the country in this case was Tajikistan!
During his travels there, Jimmy found many of the vehicles were Russian in origin, such as the Lada shown here.
The result of years of Soviet occupation was a large supply of Russian built trucks of all types.
A typical meal in Tajikistan can include vegetables, a creamy dressing, mutton, naan, an ovenbaked flatbread...and yes, RC Cola!

Prior to the start of the March meeting, W-S Region AACA members check over the menu at Pano's Restaurant in Harrisonburg.

Once again Scott Gregory handles the 50/50 ticket sales, as Past President Ken Farley looks on.

Guest speaker, Francis Gary Powers, Jr. gave a fantastic talk about the cold-war era, his father being shot down in his U-2 in 1960, the Cold War Museum, the movie "Bridge of Spies", and more!
The chilly weather did not keep the Gregorys from bringing their '68 Buick.
Once again, the Farleys arrived in their 1940 Buick.
Nelson Driver's mammoth '77 Chrysler New Yorker cut a wide swath in the parking lot...
...while Todd Smith's '29 Buick brought a touch of elegance.

The February 19th W-S Region meeting was held at Sooner BBQ in Stuarts Draft.
Members filled the room and enjoyed Sooner's delicious barbeque and sides prior to the meeting.

Stu Allen accepts the Edgar & Walter Rohr trophy on behalf of the Waynesboro-Staunton region. This trophy is presented to the region with the largest percentage of members participating in the meet, regardless of region size.
Stu Allen also accepts the Old Dominion trophy on behalf of the Waynesboro-Staunton region. This trophy is presented to the region with the most member participation points earned during the meet.
